Y2K

TITLE SEQUENCE | DESIGN + ANIMATION

- January 2024

Y2K is a horror-comedy film distributed by A24, for which I designed the main title and main-on-end credits. I brought a 2000s retro aesthetic to the typography and developed a nostalgic UI look, animating it in a fun, dynamic way.

Concept

Y2K is a horror-comedy film distributed by A24, for which I designed the main title and main-on-end credits. I incorporated a distinct 2000s aesthetic into the main title, using a retro-style typographic approach for the final design. Additionally, I developed a nostalgic retro UI look for the main-on-end sequences and brought it to life with fun, dynamic animations.

Other Exploration

Here's another direction pitch frame I created. I used chaotic wires as an element and shifted the hue to give the footage an eerie feel. It looks like a strange, retro software interface from the 1990s - old-school and nostalgic. The result is a crazy, fun, and apocalyptic Y2K vibe.
